Hour of Code

  • Computing has become omnipresent and ubiquitous, impacting virtually every field from the physical and natural sciences to the social sciences, arts, and humanities. It is, therefore, crucial to introduce students to computing at an early age and help them make sense of the rapidly changing digital world. With this aim in mind, the ACM Student Chapter at IIT Jodhpur organized the 'Hour of Code' event during Computer Science Education Week on December 12, 2023.
  • The event aimed to instill an interest in computing among school-going students by demonstrating that computer science is fun, creative, and relevant in today's world. Specifically, the event targeted students in grades 7-9 and offered hands-on sessions on game development and cryptography, followed by a quiz.
  • The focus was on exploratory learning, highlighting the benefits of learning through inquiry and curiosity. The quiz winners received certificates and goodies, and all participants were awarded Hour of Code completion certificates. Overall, the event successfully engaged and inspired young minds to pursue careers in computing and showcased the exciting opportunities and possibilities that computing has to offer.

All the students who participate in the event will get a participation certificate. Additionally, quiz winners will get the winner certificate and goodies.
